Ingredients
Sliders:
12 Martin’s Sweet Dinner Potato Rolls
8 oz cream cheese, room temp
1/4 cup powdered sugar
1 tsp lemon juice
1 egg yolk
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup apple pie filling
Apple Pie Filling:
3 cups apples, peeled and sliced thin
1/2 cup light brown sugar
Pinch of salt
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/16 tsp ground cloves
1/16 tsp ground nutmeg
1/4 cup of water
1 tbsp cornstarch + 3 tbsp water
Glaze:
1 cup powdered sugar
2–3 tsp milk
Directions
Preheat the oven to 375°F.
Meanwhile, prepare the apple pie filling:
Add the sliced apples, sugar, salt, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg and water to a large stock pot.
Cook over low/medium heat for 15 minutes until the apples are tender.
In a bowl, mix together the cornstarch and water. Add the slurry to the apple mixture. Mix well.
Continue to cook until thickened like an apple pie filling.
Set aside until ready to use.
In a bowl, mix the cream cheese, powdered sugar, lemon juice, and egg yolk until smooth.
Use a sharp knife to cut out the centers of the dinner rolls to create space for filling.
Fill the rolls with the cream cheese mixture, then top with apple pie filling.
Bake for 12–15 minutes, until golden brown.
Whisk together powdered sugar and milk to make a glaze.
Drizzle glaze over the sliders.
Enjoy warm!
