Cheeseburger Stuffing

Ingredients

  • 2 Tablespoons Cooking Oil

  • 2 Medium Yellow Onions, diced

  • 1 Pound Ground Beef

  • 1 Clove of Garlic, minced

  • 1 Teaspoon Salt

  • 1 Teaspoon Ground Black Pepper

  • 1 Teaspoon Sage

  • 2 Cups Beef Broth

  • 2 Packs of Martin's Sweet Dinner Rolls, cubed and toasted (Makes about 12 cups)

  • 2 Roma Tomatoes, sliced for garnish

  • 3 Green Onion Stems, sliced for garnish

  • 1 Cup Cheddar Cheese, shredded

  • 1/4 Cup Burger Sauce

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 375°F

  2. Prepare Martin’s Sweet Dinner Roll cubes by cutting the sheet of dinner rolls in half horizontally, and then cut each half into 9 individual pieces. Toast the cubes as described in our Homemade Bread Stuffing Cubes recipe. Set aside.

  3. In a large skillet, heat cooking oil. Add onions and cook until slightly tender. Add hamburger, garlic, salt, pepper and sage. Brown burger mixture; drain grease.

  4. In a large bowl, gently combine beef mixture, beef broth and cubed Martin’s Sweet Dinner Rolls until cubes are covered with mixture but are still in cube form.

  5. Put combined mixture into a large baking dish and bake for 30 minutes or top is toasted.

  6. Dice Roma tomatoes and green onions while stuffing bakes.

  7. Top with shredded cheddar cheese, green onions, tomatoes and burger sauce.

  8. Serve warm.
